Couple Session in Manhattan

Mae & Liz

A Queer Love Story Told Through Books, Music & Subway Rides

Mae’s heart, I’ve learned, belongs to two things: Liz and music.

They met years ago through a series of serendipitous encounters—shows, parties, chance sightings—and built their relationship through adventure: from spontaneous road trips and rooftop tent camping to bookshop hotels and Montreal getaways.

So we didn’t need grand backdrops.

We picked the setting: a walk through Manhattan, a pause in the park where Mae wrote lyrics and Liz read a book. We ended the day riding the subway together, music shared through headphones, a quiet kind of intimacy.

We incorporated what mattered most to them:

  • Mae’s love for music

  • Liz’s love for books

  • And the everyday softness of moving through life together

If Mae & Liz’s story shows us anything, it’s this: Storytelling lives in the quiet. In the way you look at each other when no one’s watching.

That’s what we’ll photograph together.
